Under Phase II of the INGC climate change projects in Mozambique a proposal for adapted agricultural water management under climate change conditions has been developed. The proposed measures aim at sourcing and utilising alternative water resources as well as adjusted management options and include shallow well drilling, the introduction of small motor pumps, zero tillage approaches and the introduction of smallholder irrigation systems.
Actual services provided by our staff within the assignment:
Field investigations, situational analysis of wetland- and dryland farming practices, development and discussion of mitigation and adaptation possibilities, especially considering sustainable wetland and floodplain farming, development and testing of pilot approaches, shallow well drilling and implementation of pilot smallholder irrigation schemes.
